Re: Low Cost Tablets for Navigation
I've not used them myself, but London Chart Plotters seem to get a good write-up from our down south YBW friends. Quite an informative site, and possibly of interest to grammar pedants. https://www.londonchartplotters.com/

Re: Anyone Going Sailing This Year or Jacking It All In?
No plans at the moment, other than an inclination to head for Stromness for the Orkney Folk Festival, always a great weekend, and then over to Norway, perhaps going further north this time. On the other hand, at this time if year, reading Rob's and Nick's accounts of sailing in warm weather does mak...

. I know loads of you are out sailing, so I expected to see lots of accounts of interesting voyages with sumptuous photos of exotic locations. Instead there is a deathly silence, even though I have slaved away to bring youse all the very latest in forum sophistication. The only post since the upgra...

Re: No-one been anywhere this year then?
We were out for a few weeks from mid-May through to the end of June. Some comments; 1. It was bloody cold the whole time, much more so than I can recall in previous years at that time; 2. It was much windier than normal, which, when we were able to sail at all, ensured some fast passages; 3. The wea...

Re: The Hip
Good luck with it! The next twelve weeks or so will be a bit of a scunner I had to go back in after I got home; I was sitting in the front room when herself noticed a growing puddle of blood under my chair. The wound had become unstitched. So, back in for a repair job. Meanwhile the medication was p...

Re: What next?
We have been very fortunate in being able to get the boat back in the water and sail away.
Arrived in Plockton yesterday and spent a lot of a lazy today trying to understand what the wind is going to do next.

This time last year we were in Norway and loving the really long days. It was still chilly in the evening though, unlike today in glorious Stirling.

Re: Norway Pilot Guide: Den Norske Los
One thing we found this summer was ubiquitous 5G phone signal from Lofoten to Træna to Bergen. Amazing. We were very impressed by the coverage in our more modest cruising area there, from Silda south of Statt down to Kleppavika in Krossfjord. Also, more or less constant data access allowed cross ch...

Re: Inveraray Pier News
Not sure how a "liner" is defined, but they could certainly get cruise ships like the Majestic Line ships and larger on either side of Sgeir na Eireannach. Pretty deep water and a fair bit of space as I recall, but perhaps not for the Cunard liners..... Anyway they take the Lord of the Gle...
