Would that be the same stuff as the British oil and gas off the coast of Great Britain?Yes, but only once the English Oil and Gas that is (inconveniently) positioned off Scotland runs out.

Re: Saltire
.
Hardy, you are speaking b*llocks old man.
The North Sea is already legally divided into a Scottish sector and an English sector. It has to be as Scots law is different to English law.
The relevant law is The Continental Shelf (Jurisdictional) Order 1968.
Currently this places 90% of the oil in Scottish waters, however this percentage is gradually growing as new fields open up to the North of present fields and also to the West of the mainland.
The SNP advocate dividing the North Sea assets based on the 55.50' latitude or upon international legal principles of equidistance.
Now, might I suggest that you all stop this racio-political bickering or go over to you-know-where if you want to whinge about which nation currently has the biggest chip on its shoulder. This is a sailing forum.

The Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundaries Order 1999 was enacted primarily with reference to fisheries.
The Continental Shelf (Jurisdiction) Order 1968, which defines the boundaries of Scottish waters, covers an area much greater than simply the territorial waters. The new renewable energy zone, as I understand it, is based on the Continental Shelf Act 1964. The 1968 order defined the English area, the Scottish area and the Northern Irish area within UK territorial waters and is still valid.
Now Hardy, if you want to get into a p*ssing contest with me forget it. Take a telling or go away. You do not seem - apart from one comment on glues - to have much in the way of boating expertise to contribute to the forum anyway, and although I may allow Claysie and TCM to extract copious quantities of urine this privilege is not extended to jonny come lately alleged mobo drivers who appear to have no valid reason for being on here other than to cause dissension.
In the immortal words of the underachieving Doric sage, awa an' bile yer heid - or start a thread which convinces the good citizens of this parish that you have any interest in sailing, because at the moment yer jaiket is on a shoogly peg.

Re: Saltire
Now then, where's "the works" I have a spanner I want to throw in?
My Crew keeps making disparaging comments on her chosen County of residence and also mocks the flag of said County:

I don't always believe that she is joking, but she says she is, a long time after.
Should I get a pair of Ensigns made up, one with a propper flag as above, and one with a red rose on so she can fly that when she is on watch?
Kismet Hardy
