Today is not a good day

to ask a bank to lend you £100K to renovate a property for rental.

I know cos I just tried .. well maybe next month ;-)

due to our friend's prospective purchase of a hallberg rassy, there's a boatyard (or two?) storing several ebespachers, now surplus to requirements, which with your skill with these devices you could provide central heating as an integral part of this renovation?!!

Jings, you've just triggered a thocht, if I could locate the vessels diesel tank and liberate its contents, that would set me some way towards my financial target!

Chentlemen - they scales hef jes fallen fae ma ageing eyes - ah noo ken where ra model fer Waldorf and Staedtler cam fae.

jes tae pit ra record straight - ra Halberg is a non-starter and they fivers worth o premium bonds havnae rendered a penny.

Ah'm glad wee jamesie cuidnae get hi hons on ra money fae the bank - we widnae be able tae cope wi a' they "Jings ah think ah'll sell.....posts" fer years and years - ets bad enough lisnen tae his rantins ower yon damn Glen Rastus.

Weell ah've goat yin oh yon Waldorf and Staedtler thingies, it came in a packet o' Rice crispies alang wi' instructions on how tae make a periscope.Jings Mandy wiz fair taken wi' it. No yon Mandy, the ither yin, no the wan that used tae hae a moustache..

Give them a couple of days and you will be able to buy the bank for that.
Be reasonable? I didn't get where I am today by being reasonable.

D'ye remember they wee submarines that ye used tae pit bakin pooder in an watch em bob up an doon in a jar o' watter - they cam wi cornyflakies ah seem tae remember.

Ah'm jes wonnerin ef jamesie cuid be got tae bob up an doon a ladder ef we peppered his spotty wee airse wi ra pooder. Et wid save a fortune in navvies pay and get ra fat wee fecker thinner

Yes, yes I remember! They came with some variety of brekky cereal, you're right and I think they were supposed to resemble the USS Nautilus which had just been to the North Pole under the ice, 1957? 58? thereabouts. Perhaps someone will sell one on eBay and we chentlemen of a certain age can bid in florins :lol:
