Wait no more, the salstice was 23:03.

Erica noticed that evenings, or was it mornings? continue to get darker for a few days but generally speaking, Summer is coming.

The mornings do get a little darker although only by a few minutes. I think we have to wait until about the 7th. of January before they start to get lighter than they were at the solstice.
The lighter evenings kick in straight away though.

Is it dark in the mornings?

It certainly doesn't seem to stay light very long after I rise.

What is the point of daylight before nine o'clock in the morning?

Well I had a sap rising feeling today so the days must be getting longer.

It helped that I had a lunchtime cruise round on the WWW all in sunshine with fair breezes.

Claymore, you were a bit late with the "nichts are drawin oot" first post. The earliest sunset was away back about 17 December. And at last the sun is rising earlier in the morning. Latest sunrise was not till 30 December, when it was over 10 minutes later than on the solstice here
