Where's the mooring?
We arrived at Windermere this morning after being told that all was well - yes 15 boats had been blown off their moorings but all the owners had been informed on 19th December. There were still two boats on the foreshore but no - neither were a Copland Harrier.
Carousel was not on her mooring.

No - that's actually one word - as used in 'Mrs Brown's Boys'claymore wrote:Feckfeckfeck
Carousel was on another mooring, a holiday mooring nearby, having broken her shackle bolt on her block, had a brief taste of freedom and ended up somewhere that scraped her gelcoat. All her tackle and moring bouy were on her foredeck, rusting nicely into the cockpit.

Yes, glad to hear that the Wardens got her off the shore before she suffered too much damage. Hope that she didn't damage any other boat during her escapade.

Fair point - some acquaintance of ours had to stay on their mooring at Ferry Nab on Christmas Day and watch helplessly as a motorboat on a mooring was swamped and sank.
15 boats were sunk/lost/blown onto the foreshore on that particular storm.
We are far enough apart not to be a hazard (and we know of at least one other mooring that's been lost at Waterhead in 2013).
But as they say - it could be worse. There are flowers gathered by a bench in Borran's Park to commemeorate someone who drowned in the River Rathay that day.
At least we were recovered and are on a serviced holiday mooring.
