Happy New Year

Post by marisca »

I seek the advice of the gnarled old farts on this forum. Is auld new year's day the 12th or the 14th January by the new fangled Gregorian calendar? My memory says the 12th but apparently 'cos the Julians didn't bother with the wee bit extras each year, it is now, according to Russian Orthodoxists and Wiki, the 14th.
I suppose there's nought for it but to celebrate both ...... and then there's the Chinese yin on 10th Feb. All these opportunities for good resolutions!
