Solpieter (and Marisca) are in Oban much too early for the SIPR on Friday. Apart from losing his main halyard (outer braid broke and it all bumfled up) Solpieter seems fit for purpose and isn't making water.
I had a wee increase of heart rate in Crinan basin though. I'd actually got my barge going backwards (requires a fair bit of speed) heading towards a berth behind Solpieter right in the corner nearest the bins and was feeling awfy proud of my skills (actually luck), banged it into ahead to stop the motion and the throttle cable broke! Fast action with a fender and Pieter applying his (not inconsiderable) bulk to the pushpit stopped disaster. Crinan Boatyard sell Morse cables on a Sunday - that's service.
