WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST

SATURDAY:
High pressure retains control of the weather through most of the British Isles today, with a warm front moving away slowly to the north of Scotland.
The weak warm front moving east through Ireland introduces more moist air here through the day, reducing visibility.
Generally it is going to be a fair day with good spells of sunshine. Morning mist should clear away quickly to leave a fair day, although rather hazy, especially in the south.
Thicker cloud moving through Ireland will produce low cloud and some drizzle in the afternoon.
For Scotland cloud, drizzle and moderate visibility affecting the north at first, but this clearing from the south leaving most places fine with sunny spells.
Winds generally S-SE’ly 5-10kt (F2-F3) but increasing across the irish Sea and into Ireland, western Scotland and the far southwest of England later to a SE 12-16kt (F4).

SUNDAY:
Low pressure is centred to the northwest of Scotland today, with a cold front tracking eastwards. The cold front is only a weak feature, although will produce some rain across Scotland and northern England as it clears in the morning,. The front clear of East Anglia by 1pm.
Following will be brighter skies, sunny spells and significantly improved visibility. However, the airmass is going o be destabilising and so heavy showers are likely to form as it clears eastwards. These showers could be heavy and thundery at times, especially across Wales, western Scotland and southwest England.
Winds will be from the S or SW at 12 to 15kt (F4) but 17-20kt (F4-F5) for Wales, western England and Ireland. SW 20-25kt (F6) for northern Scotland.
