Storm in a teacup and usury

Post by ParaHandy »

Since hersel's recent retirement begun, a cup of tea has been brought to her bedside. This display of uxorious felicity has had the, desired, result of preventing her getting to the post first and opening the annual marina berthing invoice, due around about now.

Sadly, such was the bulk of this year's invoice with all of its "special offers" that the postie couldn't get it through the letterbox and left it at the door; "hmmm .." she said when passing it over, opened.

Anyway, I slunk away with it for a period of quiet reflection whilst calculating what the equivalent interest rate would be if anyone paid it monthly, 15%! Some American states would consider such a rate as usury. I suppose it proves that borrowing off a bank is better than off a marina?

Nae doot the wee lassie was shocked by the seeming 182% price hike that the invoice appeared to communicate?

Ye once told me ye knew ye couldn't protect her from the harsh realities of marina costs forever...
