Cockpit chartholders - Combicover

Post by Telo »

After several years faithful service, our Combicover chartholder, with the clever magnetic strip that holds a folded chart in place, has started to fall apart. The clear cover, on which you could pencil in your nav work, has gone all brittle with age and exposure to the sun (although that's a bit of a puzzle given the weather lately).

We'd bought it as a cheapie from Marine Chart Services, and, at the time, I suspected that it was an "end of line" product. It's a clever piece of kit, and we were looking to replace it, but cannot find a source, although we did come across the Combicover website. However Mme Shard's email to them has bounced back - anyone know a source or a good alternative?

Here's the Combicover in action, a bit frayed at the edges, but prior to the cover splitting;

Theres a thing in me forecabin that looks about that size, unless you have a miniscule hand, seeing as how chartwork on Windermere is just a bit redundant, you can have it if it fits the bill.

Not at the boat for a couple of weeks but I'll look to see if it's suitable when I'm there.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.
