Hello again,
Not a bad weekend ahead, the north of the country probably fairing best, the south seeing some complications brought about by lower pressure.
Remember that we are here to help you. If you are planning a trip then we can write a forecast specifically for you (just see http://www.weatherweb.net/buy.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details). Or, if you want to talk directly too us you can call 0906 515 0036 and pay £1.50 p/min or call 01902 895252 and pay a fix price of £12 per call (make sure you tell the forecaster immediately that you want to pay by credit card). However you get your forecast, we are here all weekend.
Weatherweb.net has been updated and now carries many more forecasts. I am working on adding more too. There are now:
• Surface frontal charts to 5 days ahead
• Detailed wind forecast charts for regions of the UK to 5 days ahead
• 5 day forecast texts for the UK, Ireland, France, Mediterranean and Europe
• Satellite cloud forecasts for Europe
• Month Ahead and Seasonal forecasts
So if you haven’t visited lately see http://www.weatherweb.net/uksail.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Onto the weekend forecast, and if you know anyone who’d like to receive this email each week just tell them to send a request to join to sailingweather-subscribe@weatherweb.net
Best wishes,
Simon
WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
Issued: 1100 Thursday 4th June 2009
SATURDAY:
An area of low pressure over central Europe is going to be extending into the southern parts of the UK through today, bringing unstable air here and some outbreaks of rain at times. There will probably be areas of instability over the southern half of the country and it is within these that bands of showery rain may form. Overall quite a hard one to call and a forecast that you need to watch closely for development.
Generally for much of England and Wales as well as southern Ireland there will be broken cloud and sunny spells. However, showers are going to be forming here and there. I suspect that most of these will be over central and eastern England, and it is probably here where there will be most cloud too. More western areas may get away with only scattered showers.
For the east and south of Scotland there could be some cloud and showers or rain. Again this is probably going to be mainly light and may well linger for much of the day. Further west it will be drier and brighter and should be dry, although there could be an increase in cloud later.
Winds will be mainly from the NE 4-8kt (F2-F3) in the south, increasing as you head north to be E-NE 12-17kt (F4-F5) through northern England, Scotland and Ireland.

SUNDAY:
Low pressure remains close to eastern England today. Bands of cloud circulating around the low will be affecting the eastern parts of the country throughout the day. The best of the conditions will be further west where it should be brighter with some sunny spells.
At the present time I think that it will be eastern coasts of the country which are cloud and damp through much of today. I am not sure exactly where the rain will be, but an area centred around Norfolk and the northeastern parts of England seems most reasonable, the rain and cloud tending to break as it crosses the Pennines. Across much of eastern Wales, central and northwestern England showers are going to be forming and a few of these could be heavy at times.
Becoming generally dry over southern counties of England and apart from a few scattered showers over central Ireland it should be dry here. Some showers and cloud too for central and eastern Scotland, but probably drier and brighter to the north and west.
The winds may actually become quite strong over much of England; W-NW 14-17kt (F4-F5) through the Midlands and East Anglia, N 17-27kt (F5-F6) over northern England. NW 6-10kt (F3) through southwest England, NW 12-16kt (F4) through Wales. NE 12-17kt (F4-F5) for much of Scotland, but NE 14-19kt (F5-F6) for southeast Scotland.
