I have a solid fuel stove on Dark Island, it will burn charcoal and peat OK, however the very best fuel for it is a product called Lakeland coal produced by a firm in Lancaster and sold in winter by a local NW supermarket called Booths.
Normally I stock up for the season from Booths, However this year by the time I had got back to Lancashire they had taken them of the shelves.
I have tried hard to find another stockist without success, just an off chance someone may have come across it especially in Cumbria.
Its such good stuff really burns clean and no dust on t deck.

Lakeland coal
We can't change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

Re: Lakeland coal
