There were a couple of howlers: Taking Eggs to 'barter' at Applecross? Isn't Applecross as touristy as hell? I reckon you'd need a bunch of £20 notes to barter there - I'm sure even in the remoter parts of Jockland they have new fangled "money". Saving the Gull - Jesus-Tap Dancing-Christ.

I think it's best to ignore the "plot" and focus on the scenery, wildlife etc.

Sitting in his extention looking out on Raasay and Skye with a cup of tea on the go didn't look to shabby.

Probably. He's from Bris'ol, and the personal hygiene wasn't exactly examplary..... But he's a BIG plonker, but. You can discuss it with him! And rumour has it that he and his production crew lived in the Inn, not in the bothy.

Maybe DaveS could sign him up for some real 'bothy weekending', with an 'ammer, some nails, and a wheen of BBC timber.....

Good to see the Old Forge, Inverie. Looked deserted though. I've only been there twice both times well out of season and it was heaving. I wonder if that footage was taken early in the morning?

Went to the Applecross Inn last Tuesday (17th March) for lunch and had to wait for a table! In March! First time to Applecross, it's all about the drive over the hill, pleased I was on four wheels and not two as there's some really tight corners. Well worth the drive over...the lunch and the views. You could anchor just off the Inn if you were wanting to stop for lunch, I think it is possibly too exposed for an overnight stop though.

Yes, I went over the Bealach a few years ago for the sake of the hairpins. Knocked on a few doors looking for a B&B and found out they were weekend cottages owned by consultant surgeons - well i would if I could afford it. The place was jam-packed with the Glasgow Moto Guzzi owners jamboree. Lots of rorty Vtwin noises, very good. High spot for me was having a days paddle with the locally based outdoor jaunts chap - in and out of the skerries and the seals.
