Baloon tank!
Decided to test a small aluminium tank I got made for my eber, so blanked everything off and connected up the garden hose gently filled it and released any air then opened up the garden hose tap and amazingly watched as the tank started to change shape fron been nice and squared off to been more leather football shaped, was starting to believe there must have been a viagra disolved in the water,
but was greatly chuffed to see that it only had one tiny bead of water at one spot and am very reassured by the welding, and will have the small leak sorted before fitting.
So just a word of advice, take care if preassure testing a tank, even with a garden hose.

I used the garden hose to verify the domestic water subframe before it went back aboard, and blew the accumulator apart. There's a lot more than 3 bar there, I severely frightened a pressure guage as well.

Still, it it highlighted any joints that needed tightening!

I dont know lbb, but it is "Up and running well".little boy blue wrote:is this forum becoming addicted to viagra, or something ?
Yes Bill its amazing what it can do when under preasure, I would reckon it was a stringent test for the tank and unless any of the welds have cracked while it was deflating I would reckon it will never leak, although I will test it again when I get it back, but not under so much preasure, nothing worse than a diesel leak especially when the tank is burried under the cockpit locker.
