Silkie's Summer Cruise

Post by Silkie »

Change of plan.

Silkie's Summer Cruise will not now commence this weekend. Although she will be sailing it will be a long weekend only and I will enjoy the following week afloat instead.

Nah,we were at Eilean Rubha an Ridire when we spoke, but shifted across to Scallastle Bay later on. Two lazy days - nice sail back up the Lynn of Morvern.

Heard two or three DSC mayday alerts from the same vessel, but coastguard had a job raising them. Wonder if it was malfunction.

Also heard a vessel apologising to Claymore, but suppose it must be a different one as I can't see anyone ever wanting to apologise to our Claysie.

Enjoyed a little VHF confusion later. After speaking Fairwinds on 77 (Nick hailed first on 16) another vessel hailed Silkie, as I thought, on 77 and a dialogue developed about anchoring at PD. Turned out it was Selkie and her pals who were also bound there.

A pleasant weekend afloat.

I'm sure I'll get more relaxed about Cuan and Easdale soon. :)

. . . just a quick flash on the way back from Crinan - which BTW is the BEST place for stainless bolts - every kind and size, priced individually.

Rose sez apologise for the zany woman but she thought you were Taliban John (aka Holiday John)

See you next weekend.
