I know there's a wealth of knowlege out there, so can anyone suggest one or two "must-sees" in glasgow over the next week or two?
I looked at the programme and don't really recognise much at all.
(rousing stuff rather than gaelic dirges preferred!)
Thanks in anticipation,
Celtic Connections, glasgow.

I think you might struggle to get tickets now for some of the better gigs. Transatlantic Sessions would be up there for me (next weekend); Battlefield Band Classic Album also worth a look (this weekend); Kate Rusby is playing on Tuesday. But there are so many things to choose from that you are spoilt for choice.

I'm afraid I think it's too late for you to catch Deaf Shepherd - they were superb!
But if you want to hear the lead track from their first album (by no means the full range of their portfolio - a real mix) listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv--ToTnxsU
I had previously set some phone video to the track "Millenium Village" which by happy coincidence was almost exactly the same length and broke in just about the right places - but I wasn't willing to post it on Youtube because of copyright.
My wife was so taken by their concert she emailed the band to ask permission and got an almost immediate personal reply in the affirmative as long as we credited and posted a link to their website - good on them!

Er well it's a bit late as a recommendation but Youssu N'Dour on Friday night was outstanding.
