Near Disaster on the way South
having demolished a dieticians breakfast of bacon roll and black coffee this saving 25 calories by not having milk in it, the Muz and I left Dunstaffnage at around 11:00 ish.
I navigated the good doctor all the way to the M74 turnoff then checking that he was ok now with the course, I retired for a tad of much deserved kip.
Just south of the Happened-Upon Services the Muz decides to throw in a gybe and rammed the back of a truck.
Readers will recognise the expression "A rude awakening".
Let me tell you that the consumate definition of the phrase is to find onself covered in airbag and windscreen, breathing in lungfulls of airbag gas and pumping ones lifeblood down each nostril at a rate that would keep the transfusion service going for a month.
The car is totalised - Muz has a broken tibia and I look like I've pissedoff Mike Tyson.
Apart from that - excellent weekend!

Sorry to hear that . . .

Get well soon both of you . . . here's some flowers

and some grapes

What caused the gybe, were you running with no preventer rigged?

Cargo undamaged.
Muzzy's car - Nissan something.
Gybe as yet unexplained - possibly just sailing by the lee and didn't read the gusts
The Muz leg might have been done on the taxiboat trot.
Fortunaely the Parajag was someway behind us so they stopped. Para drove me to Carlisle infirmary for a check up whilst LJS stayed with the Muz and we all met up again at Tebay services. This was much appreciated - the more so because stopping meant that they joined the heavy traffic as the lake district disgorged its trippers onto the M6.
This is the second time that the Muz and I have returned home from a Chents Cruise on a relay vehicle.
Brilliant weekend though during which I only gained 1lb in weight - anyone needing dietary tips and tricks is welcome to contact me for a consultation. Jamesie is looking a little rounded these days, I was thinking...
