Carrying Full 5 Gallon Containers up Ladders

Post by claymore »

Best to do this on Aluminium ladders as when the wooden ones rot it is rather frightening as you plunge feet-first earthwards, trying not to spill the diesel.

You also feel really silly.

carrying heavy objects up ladders

Post by theguerns »

This is a no no. If you have something heavy to get on the boat by going up any ladder better to tie a rope to it go up the ladder taking the other end of the rope and then pull the item up. If its realy heavy use a 6-1 attached to the boom we do it all the time and also use the 6-1 for going up the mast simple safe and NO strain
Sal & I live aboard our Colvic Watson 32 in France as we have retired from the channel Islands. I have been sailing for 55 years and Sal for 17 years.
