The Rabbi and the Priest

were sat together on a train and got into conversation.
"Your religion eats no pork, Rabbi" stated the Priest.
"Indeed, that is true" said the Rabbi and the rueful tone of his response prompted the Priest to ask "Have you ever succumbed, Rabbi?"
The Rabbi responded - "I did once eat a ham sandwich"

The Rabbi then said to the Priest "Your vow of celibacy must be a tough one to observe?"
"Indeed that is true" said the Priest and the rueful tone of his response prompted the Rabbi to ask "Have you ever succumbed, Father?"
The Priest responded - " I did once succumb"

The Rabbi thought for a moment and then added "It beats a ham sandwich"
