These figures always surprise me, but they shouldn't. I guess Mull, Skye , Lewis etc all have coastlines longer than the south coast of england ( IIRC Mull's coast is 400 miles long), yet I still wonder where all the boats are, why the anchorages are empty (apart from poldohrain!). I am not complaining though , it does make for excellent sailing and relaxing evenings.
