Crane for Tayport?

Post by PhilipL »

Just bought a boat in Tayport and need someone to lift it in. There are two of us - one bilge and one fin - wanting to go in. Any suggestions?

In the past I have hired trucks with HIAB cranes on the back, including just the tractor unit with HIAB for a 10 ton lift.

Talk to these people:-

What's that? Dunno! Should we be worried about that? Dunno! How? Ah dunno!

length and weights of the boats would help
have you asked anyone at the marina? they must use a crane for the boats based there. https://www.tayportharbour.org.uk//Inde ... inID=35148

Patterson of Aberargie's small crane (50T I think) is the one normally used for individual lifts at Tayport:

The 100T crane does the season start/end lifts but they'll bring the small one over for single boat lifts so would certainly do 2 of.

@Gardenshed - Fulmar bilge and VdS Pioneer 10 fin I think.

Thanks all.

We are going with Pattersons on Monday morning (10th). Hiab Hire Scotland might have been slightly cheaper but they are in Linlithgow area so travel costs are higher and Pattersons know the harbour.

Anyone need a lift out?

Edit: Yes Fulmar going down to Granton. Great work has been done on the Pioneer - looks like a brand new boat.
