Venice and Oban

Post by claymore »

I hear today that a tourist tax is being introduced to Venice to help offset the costs of damage to the infrastructure of mass tourism.
Looking at the thousands of grockles teeming of the cruise shits and onto coaches at the Transit Pontoon - I wonder if Oban should introduce this?

I think they charge a decent fee for anchoring and managing the embarkation at the transit pontoon. Also the current transit pontoon rates are already at the tax level. But it is peanuts and all the harbours are vying for the huge stink pot industry, high charges at Oban, Fort William, thank you very much, heck, even Craobh was in on the business, with a large cruise liner anchored off disgorging lard ass, tat buyers at the marina.
What's that? Dunno! Should we be worried about that? Dunno! How? Ah dunno!
