Autohelms

I am looking to install an autohelm in a 29ft yacht I have looked at second hand raymarine ST4000 Wheel pilot and am now about to look at a Navcentre 300 combined chart plotter autohelm.... does anyone have any experience of this equipment or even basic knowledge of it would appreciate a few words of advice...
