All leave has been cancelled . . .

and extra staff drafted in to cope. BlueMoment Headquarters is on full alert.

It will be interesting to see how many people do post here this weekend - my betting is not a lot, unless forum addiction is worse than I thought. YBW forumeers are tremendously loyal - even Marian on BYM has failed to attract many of them.

It's very difficult to get a forum to reach critical mass, and I can't really think of anything I can offer here that YBW doesn't offer. About the only difference is that as BM has no money getting sued is not much of a worry . . .

I voted 1-10 and YBW is back online now.

Do I get a prize?

Oh yes , forgot about that . . .

It's an Albin Vega, worth about £11,000 - why do you ask? Are you under the impression that all yacht owners are stinking rich? Many people spend more on their cars than that. (I don't).

It's certainly true that in general yachting is a sport for the well-heeled, but there are a lot of exceptions. There is a rich tradition of epic voyages made by impoverished sailors in what by today's standards would be considered woefully inadequately equipped vessels.

That's me to a T, although the voyages generally only attain epic status in the bar afterwards.

Check. And the way things are going Shard will be out of the water until late April/early May at the earliest. She's not just a wee bit wet, but having had her bottom scraped, the original GRP base was badly laid and it's now going to cost more to get the job done properly. Hence the further impoverishment.

Chartering is out, so I'll follow your exploits here until we're back afloat.

Well I'm always looking for crew Donald, so if withdrawal symptoms get so bad that you're prepared to put to sea in a 22 footer, you know where to find me. I hope to be back in the water in the first week in April.
