With the first of autumn's cold spells arriving this weekend it got me thinking about the jet stream and its position. Apparently the jet stream is what drives how the weather arrives in the UK. The link below is a good site for viewing jet stream predictions and when compared with the synoptic charts of the UK, gives a good visualisation of the weather engines.
