Regarding the definitive gate stuff - we were just wandering along and taking a peek at the new pontoons in Oban bay and then were headed off to Tobers - I'll wager there'll be a few more getting acquainted with the Corran ledges as they are kind of 'in the way' for yachts taking a similar line.
Anyway - no harm done and it was good to see the Silken One out by Lady Is. a little while later and the Fartwinds as we approached Gigha on Tuesday.
Fabulous week - not a lot of wind but my its grand to be dry!!
So the question is "What kind of infantile shitforbrains feels it necessary to put a video of such an 'incident' on Facetwat?"
It wiz mair o' a kiss than a grounding although we were sat there for a minute or two. No harm done - Ken McColl of Kilmelford said to me after my Cuan experience "There are only 2 kind of yachtsmen around here- those who have hit rocks and those who haven't yet'marisca wrote:I cannae find Corran Ledge in ma "Claymore's Definitive Tidal Gates". The video was shot by one Alexander McKinnon Macdonald but was posted to the FB Sailing and Cruising Scotland page by a Keith Smith. Interestingly, I see that another yacht went aground on Corran Ledge the same day. Perhaps the new pontoons are confusing more than just you.claymore wrote:
