Anchors - Genuine Bruce vs Bruce-type vs Spade . .

Post by Nick »

There's a price differential of up to 400% between genuine Bruce anchors and copies of the same weight.

Is there any reason for buying a genuine Bruce?

And . . . is the Spade better, and if so, who sells it in the UK and does it fit on a normal bow roller?

the copies of Bruce are made in China.. see:www.marines-world.com
That's why...
Yes the SPADE fit snugly on (nearly) any bow roller and you can contact the local distributor at: Bluewatersupplie@aol.com www.spade-anchor.co.uk or search for "SPADE anchor" on Google...

Anchors

Post by Mike »

Have just completed a 2 year cruise from UK to the Med ending up in Mahon where my 42' Steel Bruce Roberts Spray is now moored. Have had lots of anchors and find the Bugle to be the best all rounder. Don't know if any one has heard of it here in the UK? I also have had a Bruce copy and have no problems to report.
Regards
Mike
