Sorry to hear about the funeral, I hope it turns out as a celebration of a well lived life rather than the mourning of a lost one. I intend to sponsor a wild celebratory wake for anyone strong enough to outlive me.

A few of our regulars on here will know the deceased. It was Miranda Brunner, the landlady for the past twenty years or more of the Tigh an Truish, a figure known to many West Coast yachties. It was very much the celebration of a life well lived.

I'd have another glass for her tonight, but my medication forbids it.

She was a great lady, and a good friend to us when we first arrived. It was a wonderful ceremony. Her sister Juliet (who played the bus driver in Balamory) said to me as we were leaving the wake at the pub this afternoon that we must all keep the place going. I replied that my recent MOT indicated my liver was good for a few more years yet and I would do my best. Let's hope the place doesn't change too much - hope to see some of you there soon.

Oh dear, I'm very sorry to hear that. Agree with the sentiments re. celebration, but nevertheless... Over the last 12 months so many people I know have either died or been struck down with serious illness. Sorry, being a bit morose.

jhr, I'll have you know, sirrah, that I am at least 4 times more prolific than you. And I post at least once a month, (where the given value for month normally equates to a calendrical Terran one, than a Jovian one.)
