now, this geezer who hears all british army deaths because they land at brize norton has been giving the Army some grief. no doubt mostly justified, but, at times, i reckon he's exceeding his brief and his knowledge with some of his pronouncements esp as he, or one of his crew, also thought Dr David Kelly had committed suicide .. eh?
anyway, his latest pronouncement is that if the MOD had equipped the guy who fell to his death when his primary 'chute failed to open with a radio, his death would have been avoided because his senior would have told him to open the reserve chute which he eventually did but too close to the ground ... hmmm .... apart from anything else, the idea that he was struggling to "fix" his primary chute and "forgot" that he was getting a bit close to the ground seems unlikely without good cause and the coroner's idea that a conversation could be conducted whilst travelling through the air at 60mph is a bit difficult to believe. "I say, old chap, about time you opened the reserve, what?"
