It seems that the government is considering urgent action to address the national shortage of public toilets, with pubs and restaurants being encouraged to open their toilets to non-patrons in exchange for as much as £600 a year.

But the British Toilet Association said the idea is only part of the answer to a problem plaguing the nation.

Wonder what the president or whatever he is actually does, I mean, what qualifications does the job demand. Must be a question of pulling the right strings. How are they funded, taxpayer I suppose otherwise they'd have gone down the tubes long ago.

I had an unpleasant discovery after we volunteered to pay the £10 mooring fee in Lamlash last summer. There was an additional charge of 20 english pence to use the only non-male automated toilet. But at least it was supplied with the 'necessary'. Quite a lot aren't

As a lady I have heard of such establishments. Are these not the same places that entrap my skipper into purchasing me a schooner of sweet sherry whilst he looks at all the other boats in the harbour?
