Spring Has Sprung- How Are Your Preparations?

Post by BlowingOldBoots »

I guess it depends who you ask, based on the Met Office, it is the 01 day of spring on the 01 March 2025. The Equinox is the 20 March 2025, when the sun is above the equator which marks spring for me, but who cares. There is definitely a break in the weather with it being warmer and dryer and of course sunrise and sunset is now earlier and later and back to being acceptable. Of course, it is Scotland, so anything can happen with our weather, but it is nice to get away from February.

Are you ready for the season or got a few jobs to do? I have to fit new foundations for the my foot blocks as the old teak ones were failing. A bit of GRP work to plug old holes, drilling and mounting the new foundations. This year my boat remained in water.

Are your plans coming together to go sailing?

getting through the list, with a few extras being added on
for once, the boat's been out of the water al winter so time to thoroughly check the rig, wiring and take time to do the antifouling preparation

looking forward to getting back in the water
