There are only two the nichts. The day light saving time change should never be confused with the nichts. This act of conflation must stop.

What about the leaves, winter tyres, headlights, Christmas all ready in the shops, storms, rain and all the other misery guts fest stuff usually associated with DST discussions. No, no, no! Never, ever mix DST with the the nichts.

Whatever next, CQR efficiency improvements after installing 400W of solar power!
What's that? Dunno! Should we be worried about that? Dunno! How? Ah dunno!

Sincere apologies for my glaring mistake - I will try not to confuse matters any more and will attempt to be posting once the shortest day has been reached.
I notice in your rather stern upbraiding of my good self that you failed to mention Halloween.
As every feckin house around here - except of course for Claymore Towers - is covered in feckin cobwebs and pumkins - and I assume the same can be said for Blowing Old Boots Mews?
why did you not mention it
Harrummph

I shall be displaying one miserable turnip carved with a mealy mouthed miserable grimace to ensure children do not come here, which they won't anyway. They were not mentioned as I was mildly apoplectic at mixing together day light saving time and the nichts. Plus the plumber is changing rotten cast iron radiators at the moment, which has ruined the carpet and I am freaking out and what Lady Old Boots will think when she returns from her community volunteering.

Hopefully LOB will be so full of the milk of human kindness and general bonhomie having cleansed her soul with the volunteering that she will smile benignly, give a slight shake of the head and murmur gently 'never mind dear - I'll put the kettle on - the carpet was ready for changing anyway'

It should be pointed out that these words would not be heard here - but I live in hope and expectation that not all men are afflicted the way my good self is.

These have long ago ceased to be reliable indicators of the passing of the times. I have already consumed two Christmas selection boxes before the clocks changed (the wee curly wurlies were the best).

As yotties, are we not supposed to adhere to Zulu all year round? This time changing malarkey is for landlubbers.

A remarkably accurate premonition.

Entirely reasonable behaviour eating Curly Wurlies.

As students in the early 1970s a pal and I attempted to measure the strength of a Curlie Wurlie using a tensile tester. This did not produce a useful result, and we got a row for getting the machine covered in chocolate.
