Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus Risk Now Increasing

Post by BlowingOldBoots »

I used to work in Siberia and was vaccinated against this, a series of jags and then boosters. The virus killed folks working in the field, but that is very rare. Risk is low to catching the virus.

Apparently now being detected from the south to the north of the UK. I carry tick removers on the boat, but I still twitch under stress.

Seriously though, worth a read:-

I keep a set of trousers and socks treated with Pemetherin for when I’m out in the woods shooting:

I also have some ‘Tick Magic’ spray as a back up. Both work extremely well.
