Hi,
I need to make a quick getaway on Tuesday but don't have my navigation data with me at home. I would like to sail through the Cuan Sound, westwards, then eventually up the Sound of Mull.
Can anyone advise when the west going stream starts, or when it is slack water, before the tide ebbs through the Cuan Sound westwards, this Tuesday 21st of June 2022?
Thanks,
Alastair

Re: West Going Ebb in Cuan Sound - Times
Got the data from Visit My Harbour. Brain fade, couldn't remember the resource and Google just through up a load of irrelevant posts on YBW and Bluemoment, but lucidity returned and success.
West Going Stream start 01 Hour before HW Dover, until 5 Hours after HW dover, when it is flowing strongly eastwards again.
HW Dover 21/06/22 is 06:35 and 18:02 BST. Turns westwards at 10:35 BST and 22:02 BST.
Half way between springs and neaps.
Looks like a night sail up the Sound of Mull as I won't be ready by 10:00 am.

Well it will be daylight until well after closing time so could be quite pleasant!

Indeed. Watching TV last night at 11:00, it was remarkable the amount of light still available at 11pm. A beautiful blue sky, summer night last night, and likely tonight as well, even at the northern end of the Southern Uplands.
