Blowing Old Boots

Apparently comes from the Baltic where old boats are left to rot in the tideless waters. On Dark and Stormy nights, they would sometimes break free from their moorings and then the locals would say that it was 'Blowing old Boots' which is the Germanic word for Boats of course - as in Das Boot.
Had they been left to rot in Nottingham, I suppose it would have meant it was blowing old chemists but that just doesn't have the same ring to it.
I now need to find out where the expression 'feck my old boots' comes from to make my Boot knowledge complete.
Any offers?

There's some guy over on YBW saying the same thing, for some reason it does not seem as daft over there. Perhaps that reflects the context?
We need some dry weather, I have a boat needs fettlin, anything to get me oot the hoose. Polishing gelcoat becomes an attractive alternative to reading stuff like this.

My old polisher broke so I bought a new one.

Got an email from then thanking me for the order but telling me I needed to hand over another £19.99 for the free delivery as I’m in the Highlands allegedly. I wasn’t aware Mid Argyll had moved but I’ve not really being paying attention.

Told them to poke it and they gave me my money back.

Went on line to Amazoom yesterday and bought another one with real free delivery which arrived today. Went to the boat to get polishing and it rained. Adjusted the recently serviced cludgie seacocks instead.

Now home eating crisps and drinking gin.

Thought I'd change my oil today before lift out tomorrow so I dug out my £5.99 Lidl oil pump which, of course, didn't work. Over an hour later having gone through the disappearing 12v scenario, dismantled the thing fully, sook was restored by which time the oil was cold again. Then the rain came pishing down.
