Broadford Bay Skye developments?

Post by mm5aho »

Can anyone report any developments of pontoons or a new quay in Broadford Bay Skye?
There's a report from a passing yacht of something happening there. Anyone know what?

Does anyone ever sail there? It's not exactly on the way to anywhere and has never seemed like a potetially rewarding detour.

I have sailed past there! But not stopped, didn't seem much to stop for .
It's as part of the editorial team of the CCC Sailing directions that I'm enquiring after someone reported a new pontoon there.
Someone else has suggested that this could be the Kyle pontoons wintering location?

It can be a useful place to get your breath back after negotiating Caolas Scalpay but apart from that, I agree there's not much point.

,
Never thought Caolas Scalpay was a breathing problem until this August, when we had to hang onto the 3rd reef to point high enough to scrape through, dropping the main completely and proceeding to Portree under a scrap of genoa thereafter.
