Now that it's back to a more realistic size,
D'ye think this will put a stop to all they dafties claiming to have 'Sailed round Britain' when all they did was scoosh through the Caledonian?

The good ship Marisca has circumnavigated Scotland albeit via the Clyde/Carron ditch, the Crinan and the Caledonian. I was expecting a wee mention in the New Year's honours but not a peep. Yon Chichester got a knighthood for not much more!

The F&C is currently closed to through navigation since there's a bit of a problem with the mechanisms of the Twechar and Bonnybridge lifting bridges, currently said to be "indefinite" "until repair funding is sourced". Given the millions that went into the re-opening, it's a bit worrying that there doesn't seem to be any contingency fund for unexpected repairs.

Perhaps they are still paying for the vandalism caused by short changing the contractors?
