Post by claymore »

for sailing a Claymore

Clearly I am an imbecile and have no idea how to put pictures on this blasted website otherwise I wouldn't be getting these strange[brackettyimagethingies] but despite all of my incompetence - and there is a fair bit of it - I have remained dry.....

It's photophucket trying to con you out of dosh.
We'll need to change our thirdparty hoster or something.
I'll wait until one of the gurus comes up with a viable solution.
http://trooncruisingclub.org/ 20' - 30' Berths available, Clyde.
Cruising, racing, maintenance facilities. Go take a look, you know you want to.

Photo bucket used to be the leader but they have been going downhill for a while so I'm thinking it's time to bin them.

And as for Claymore being an imbecile....I would never support or condone such a supposition. To do so would destroy any however forlorn hope of obtaining a drink in the Valley of Porn from the Claymore purse.

I'm home from the 4th for the rest of the year BTW...

Lagavulin Islay jazz Festival 15-17 September 2017 : http://www.islayjazzfestival.co.uk/

Nice to see the good ship Claymore a mere couple of moorings away from Storyline at Ardfern. Is she going to be a permanent neighbour or have you just decamped from the lagoon to make more space for this weekend's RHYC muster ?

She's in to have a couple of jobs done before we sail off for endless months of the wall to wall sunshine that will be the Scottish Autumn......
How are you?

I've popped my account with them - that's an awful lot of money they are wanting for a few pics!

Good luck with the wall to wall sunshine. Come to think of it, if all us absentee boat owners post weather reports each time we come up to our boats we can finally debunk the oft heard "you should have been here last month - it was cracking the flags". I'll start, the last two weeks in August were total rubbish.

As to me, my new(ish) physical shape seems to allow more sailing than I could have hoped for - mostly thanks to the abilities of swmbo. The only real change is that we tend to spend more time in each place than we used to. That is no bad thing given the choices available - this summer has seen 8 days in the Ardmores and just recently, a week in Canna.

Oh, I see. You mean the photo hosting. For a couple of minutes I was scouring Claymore's foredeck for some newly installed piece of nautical wizardry !

Elementary my dear Watson.
I just asked him if it was ok to use the photo or whether the auld skinflint was going to hit me for intellectual property rights.
I don't think he wants to get involved in hosting - he uses wordpress as you can see and they provide a facility for hosting. Perhaps we should all get a blog page or something although my previous attempt at this proved tiresome for me not to mention Nocodemus and the Silken One who had to sort me out fairly frequently when I got into a muddle with it all.
