Ah don't worry the stuff in the top pic is not carrying traffic anymore. Back in the 70s, the PO Telephones proposal for System X staffing agreement was one Engineer and a dog.
The Engineer was there to feed the dog, and the dog was there to stop the engineer fiddling about with the equipment.
