Lamlash update

Post by pagoda »

I'm sure some of you were aware of the demise of the Pierhead Tavern in Lamlash. For much of the tail end of 2015 it was being refurbished.
It's now open again :)
Decent pub grub and a good selection of beers and malts, not crazy prices either.
There was some talk of a new shower facility for visiting yachties, but I didn't have that confirmed. The new facilities at the Arran Yacht Club are also supposed to be available for visitors (at times?), but the food and beer might swing the choice!
The Lamlash Bay Hotel has also been restored to a decent state - with slightly more up market fare, but still reasonable. I think the new investment has a lot to do with the RET fares scheme, since the island ferry visitors can now get there with more cash in their own pockets- rather than Calmac's.

Excellent. Our shakedown destination, and also when we can't be bothered going further. We've been watching the pierhead tavern a tad anxiously for a while.
Looking forward to getting launched and visiting again.
