.
I have spoken to others and I understand the marina was effectively closed all day, with no staff available and the phones going straight to answering machine.
Anyone know what was going on?

I hope that this doesn't bode for worse news...
We haven't been there for a few years now, the service seemed to depart along with the departure of 1 person.

I think you are correct, we spent quite a bit of time in Dunstaffnage, great place, except in certain wind directions (rare).mm5aho wrote:I hope that this doesn't bode for worse news...

Not the same since Tim left and if Bobs not there then, time to move on I think.
I don't think anything will change for the better until one individual steps aside.

Can only agree with what has been said above. Its a great location, and if the eternally promised, but never delivered, breakwater pontoon had been installed it would be perfect setup. It would then only need the return of some much missed staff , or folk their equal to make it one of the best marinas in the UK. Its not going to happen with the current management. So until they are no longer part of running ( I use the word running in the loosest sense) the place, it will lurch on a sad downward slope.
I wish you luck Lady Anne with your hopes of a satisfactory response, my communications with the management were amusingly delusional.
The chandlery at Alba sailing is always worth a stop though
