The Lysblink Seaways was en route from Belfast to Norway. The MCA has tasked the Orkney ETV.

Oops indeed. Doesn't look as dramatic as a grounding in Cuan....

Perhaps he emulated that bold chappie off the Costa Concordia...?

I think if he was planning to salute the good people of Kilchoan he should still have turned to port (and probably picked a better time than 01.50).

No, not sure at all. I thought I'd read Belfast somewhere in an earlier report but just checked and in fact it said Liverpool..

AIS reports Lysblink Seaways and Luca both alongside at Greenock. Shows you shouldn't believe everything you read/hear.
