Mishnish, Tobermory

Post by DaveS »

Last night I ate in the LOTI and was intrigued by a wee advert at the bottom of the menu announcing that they had taken over the Mishnish. I didn't think to ask how recent this was. Could be really good news, since for the last 10 years the Mish has been fairly dire. Anyone been in recently?

I am staying in the Mish at this very moment.... much improved. There is still building work going on, but in the background- no issues.
Staff look happy

The folk that own/run the LOTI know what they are doing so it should be good in the long run.

We were there this Summer and are happy with the improvements/refurbish. Evidently there was a lot of money spent on bits you can't see that were rotten. Gents bogs are almost a pleasure now.
Shame the boat park has moved to the other end of town, I used to like the idea of private stairs to the pub.

a bit rusty last time I looked. Easier to walk round the street I think. Got the dinghy trapped under them by the tide a few years ago. A nice man took the outboard off and laid it on the pavement before it got damaged.

Also had the trapped dinghy problem at the steps even though I was careful to leave it downwind. Have also used the stone steps next to the ferry pier if we are going for a quick pint. Nowadays we rarely use the moorings preferring a night in Drombuie (getting older !). If we do go in for supplies we tend to pay the few quid extra and go on the pontoons.
