Poshest Moorings?

Post by Fingal »

I was chewing the fat with Nick who operates the moorings at Dallens bay with his father Paul, and we briefly explored the topic of poshness / expense of various sites and operators. Nick recounts that someone told him they liked Linnhe Marine because it was down to earth, 'not posh like Ardfern'. Nick apparently affected great offence, expostulating
"What do you mean we're not posh? My grandmother was a Princess you know."
She was too.
Are there posher moorings? Or indeed are there any with truly impeccable working class / trades union credentials?

Well, you couldn't get more sandals/beardie/folkie leftie/union activisty than Dallens bay. Shard is on the selection committee.

Bah the 'eck! I'm amazed that a working class Lancashire lad is allowed a mooring there. I shall attempt to be more obsequious when I next speak to Paul or Nick. I may even grow a forelock in order to tug it.

I hope you are not suggesting that Shard is a Lancashire Lad?

As you know, she, Shard, is from from some muddy backwater...... Which is fine, for she's a great boat to sail.

If you come in on the train from Gatwick to the Saints Pancreas, you get to look right up it. I could see there was a pretty young thing on the 14th floor who wisnae wearing drawers.
I think this fundamentally changes the rule for people who live in glass houses.

I am visiting the great metropolis as I type, I will be over at Donald's eponymous tower shortly to check on the 14th floor exhibition.
