Hull primer
What's the best primer between bare GRP and antifoul? In the past I've used Primocon for patching when great flakes of antifoul fell off Silkie's unprimed hull but wonder if there's anything better/cheaper for priming the entire hull.

Re: Hull primer
I think most 'proper' underwater primer is about the same price. I used to use Blake's' Underwater Primer which was grey, aluminium based, like Primocon I think, on my Folkboat. Now superseded by new but apparently similar products, about the same price as Primocon.

Re: Hull primer
Price isn't necessarily the first consideration although it would have been nice if someone had said that EZ GRP Primer was exactly the same formulation as Primocon at a quarter of the cost. I just wondered if anyone had strong views on the subject but I guess it's not as interesting as anchors.

Re: Hull primer
Well, I'm interested in this too, as I seem to have finished my previous tin of primer and I'm needing more. (Apologies, incidentally, for the delayed reply: I've been in Les Arcs for the last week with an unreliable connection (as the bishop may or may not have said to the actress)). My current plan is to go into Duncan's and buy whatever is cheapest, but I'd be happy to take better advice.
