2014 Ceilidh Cruise

Post by Telo »

The Ceilidh Cruise will take place over the Easter weekend. Last year's world tour took in the Creagan Inn, Lochaline Social Club, and the Tigh an Truish. Kieta is planning the tour, but I believe that a session is planned for Tobermory this year.

It'll be 18-21 April, same weekend as last year. It was quite cold and breezy last year; looking at the logbook, SWish 5-7 for most the time. It was a 5 when we got into Loch Aline, and a 7 by the time other boats came in. That new pontoon can be a bit bouncy at times. On the last morning, we had a pretty fast sail with a following wind from Puilladobhrain to Dallens Bay, waves 1-2m, occasionally 3m. Exhilarating, but something a bit more genteel would be nice too.

Evenin all,

If the ceilidh cruise is still on, number one son (the one studying at SAMS and living on a boat in er, a local marina) would love to join in. We should have Albion back in the water by then so perhaps we could attend also?

I was going to advise the same alteration to the itinerary but I was too slow to get the WiFi.

It was a great evening yesterday. As the sun keeps rising but the wind doesn't, I think we will avoid 30 miles of motoring and make our way slowly to lochaline for tomorrow's session.

Three very enjoyable nights, at least for the Ceilidh Cruisers. I don't think I could do more than three on the trot. I feel a few alcohol-free days coming on.
