So there are some expressions of interest. There is also the Danish guy from TOP who will be in the area around that time. I am annoyed with myself for considering the implications of publishing dates when our house will be empty on a public forum but it has happened now and may remain a niggle. Nick, would it be technically feasible/could you be ars*d to make a small section of this web space password protected (over and above standard login) where exact dates could be discussed ? If it is not, I could put a simple page up somewhere.
The chances of a successful landfall in company probably remain slim. First to find a date that is suitable and then, on arrival in Castlebay, it will probably only be a 50/50 chance that the weather would be suitable for a couple of nights at anchor at St Kilda. I will have a look at the tides for the second half of May, first half of June and look for 3 or 4 day periods of neaps as I assume it would be better not to venture out to west of the outer Hebrides on big springs unless settled. Then we would have half a dozen potential dates for the adventure and take it from there.
I'd be interested in going out there again. Either on Contender and with crew, or as crew on another boat.
Dates can be a big influence though for those of us that work.
Not May 16th, hoping to sail elsewhere then.
Geoff.
"Contender" Rival 32: Roseneath in winter, Mooring off Gourock in summer.
Here is a Danish guy prompted to look here by Storyline.
We plan on leaving our home shores next year June 1 for UK. Starting out in Shetland and moving south from there.
St. Kilda has been warmly resommended to us, so we are definitely interested - but timing seems a problem here. If you guys decide to go for July, count us in. We will most likely be in Hebrides at around that time.

Yeah, probably too late, I thought you were leaving earlier. If it does happen I will email you the proposed dates anyway. Irrespective of the St. Kilda trip, maybe we can meet up somewhere later in the summer
Rugger!!!
Just wrote a long spiel about my brief Army time on Kilda, but I'd been logged out before I could submit it.
Ah well, it was probably a bit boring anyway!
