An invitation..............an amazing woman, in Edinburgh
My yacht club, the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club has organised a talk by Rosie Swales Pope MBE
She is going to talk about both her solo Atlantic crossing and her solo run round the world. It should be a really interesting evening.
The talk will start at 7.45 pm with the bar open from 7.00pm at the Royal Overseas League, 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh on Friday 8th November.
The tickets are £15.00 per person and there are about twenty left so don't hesitate too long.
If you would like a ticket, or tickets, PM me.
(I do hope this post is not considered commercial advertising: I do apologise if it is)

Just a reminder, still a few tickets left: what better plans have you for a dark November evening?

Not a chance. If there was any, they'd have held it in their clubhouse at Granton Sq, down the bottom of Leith Walk and past numerous brothels. Still, with the bar opening 45 mins afore she starts, that's enuff time fer most Edinburgh folk to get pished. Hersel will not be happy talking to an audience fast asleep wi their falsies hinging oot thur gobs ...claymore wrote:Now Silkingtons, no impure thoughts, my boy.

Though I've never met you I feel a little concern that your grasp on reality is slipping a trifle. Two things recently tend to indicate that your spatial awareness is awry - BAe Systems have no shipyards in Rothesay and Granton ain't anywhere near the foot of Leith Walk, a thoroughfare you obviously frequented in the past. Get a grip, man - or at least a road map.ParaHandy wrote:Not a chance. Corinthian's clubhouse on Granton Square sold a couple of years agoParaHandy wrote:Not a chance. Granton Square in Granton not Leith
Herself kept audience wide awake
Bar open for 45 mins before start
For 30 minutes during intermission
And still filled with carousing yachties when I left
Corinthians are a falsie free boat club
But it was a great evening
Tone of the evening greatly enhanced by the presence of the eminent Bluemomenter, the Rt Hon Silkington
