Anyone know what time of day on July 28th is the demolition planned for, or where I would get this info?

I'm sure that I read somewhere that there will no (sea) access in / out of Kip Marina during the event.

I'm planning to be on holiday on the boat for 3 weeks from this Friday, and it will be strange to come home to Kip without the chimney. Might not be able to find my way!

What an unsociable time of night to blow down a structure, 10pm.
It will probably be too dark to see anything by then.
I pity any elderly people just snugging up in bed to be scared wittless by the big bang and/or vibration.

We were wondering about spectating but we planned be further West on Sunday.
When I told my crew about the previous demolitions that I had witnessed she summed it up quite well.

"One big bang and it’s all over inside 20 seconds with a lot to clean up afterwards.

Right.

We should go to Port Ellen or Gigha instead."

It's going to be a big event but probably best left to folks who would be there, or don't have far to go to watch.

I think it will still be light enough to see quite a spectacle. You will certainly see the charges detonating more clearly in the dusk!

I should be about Tiree by then, but passing it on Sunday it looked lonely. The building has almost gone entirely. Looks dog-eared, as if a dog has been chewing it.
No sign of preparation visible from the sea, but then I don't know what to look for.

I like the 'state of the art' computer! Looks like a BBC? - can't remember the full name. My first computer was a Commodore 64 (spelling?)

It's not a BBC. It looks like, but not the same as, a Commodore PET that I used in the early 1980s.
