Hi
I m french and I want buy a self-steering system
but I only know one good maker : Asmer (www.asmer.fr)
Is there others better ?
I want to compare prices and products !

I had a Hydrovane on my old boat it was brilliant, and it is British.
Also have a look at this site

One of the things that would help us to help you would be if we knew what boat you have. Size is important, and stern configuration can play a part - very few vanes are suitable for off-centre mounting, for example.

If your boat is under 30ft then the Navik is excellent. Dave is right, though - for bigger boats most people really rate the Hydrovane, and it can also be used as an emergency tiller. The Aries also has a very good reputation, but an only be purchased second hand now (although spares are available).

Youare right in saying of center self steering is not so good although I have a Hydrovane and it works very well even though it is ofset and the manufactures will give you all the help you would ever need. I am at the moment in Belem (Brazil) IT got me here , is this is help.
